Secondary school mathematics teacher and Deputy Headteacher for 33 years. Lecturer in ICT and mathematics at Mwenge University College of Education in Tanzania for 3 years. Author of a series of teachers’ guides for Tanzanian maths teachers. Advisor for the maths department of a Pakistani secondary school

Dr Maranya Mayengo 

Dr. Maranya Mayengo is Lecturer at the department of Applied Mathematics of The Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST), based in Arusha. He has 16 years of teaching experience earned from teaching both secondary school and tertiary education. He taught secondary school mathematics for 9 years before he moved to tertiary education where he worked with the University of Dodoma (UDOM), and now, The Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology.

Dr. Mayengo works with Learning Inspire to reach thousands of school teachers through “Competence based teaching” capacity building workshops where teachers are helped to appreciate competence based teaching.
